Thetford Voices Previous Events

Thetford Voices enjoyed their busiest Christmas for some years in 2018.

Quire of Voices followed their annual visit to the Christmas festivities in Bridgham on the afternoon of 15th December with participation in Thetford Singers Christmas concert that evening. Their varied programme, well-received on both occasions, ranged from the atmospheric echoes of Cecilia McDowall’s ‘The Night is Still’ to the energetic, hand-clapping a cappella of ‘Shepherds come quick’ (Ruth Gray).

Friday 21st was Carolling Day with 65 singers, musicians and leaders gathered to rehearse and sing carols around Thetford. After dividing up to visit Alexandra Court, Hanbury Court, Kings’ Court and Ford Place they came together as one for an exhilarating concert performance in St Cuthbert’s Church. Collections on the day raised over £200 for Quidenham Children’s Hospice.

One more gig awaited: a first time invitation to sing carols during Wyken Vineyards’ Farmers’ Market the next morning. Fine weather and a welcoming reception with cookies and hot chocolate ensured that Thetford Voices signed off with yet more enthusiastic singing and playing.
