We’re pleased to announce that Thetford Singers and the University of East Anglia Chamber Choir will be coming together for a first-time collaboration to present a joint Easter concert on Saturday 9th April at St Cuthbert’s Church in Thetford.
The programme, starting at 7.30 pm, will include an interesting selection of harmony, both European—a selection of motets by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner—and English: Sir Hubert Parry’s classic and rarely heard Songs of Farewell. The highlight of the evening will be a joint performance of French composer Gabriel Fauré’s popular Requiem.
Soloists are Jenny Keates, Djinh Kamei and Andrew Weeks, all experienced singers and students at the UEA. We are delighted that our former musical director Christopher Bartrop will be returning to St Cuthbert’s to play the organ.
